Keep the measurements and parts you need at the shop

Build a native Android application for remembering the spaces, measurements, and replacement parts around the person's home. Build it extremely well for use both while recording information at home and while looking at something in a shop. Follow the shared launch.

Start with a few things the person has actually needed to look up: the opening for a refrigerator, a doorway, a bulb fitting, a filter, or a paint label. Let those examples determine the first useful organization.

Record what the measurement means

Let the person create a named place or item, take photographs, and record dimensions with their units and notes. A measurement should identify what was measured: the clear opening, the outside of an existing appliance, or a particular part.

Make it easy to connect a dimension to the right photograph or feature. The person should be able to return later and understand whether a width includes trim or whether a depth was measured to the back wall. Let them record relevant clearances and obstructions as part of the same entry.

A sofa's final location and the doorway it must pass through are different things to remember. Let the person collect those related measurements without losing their separate meanings.

Use deliberately recorded measurements and photographs as the foundation. Make correcting a number or adding a better photograph straightforward, with enough context to recognize the current information.

Remember the exact replacement

Give replacement parts a useful place in the same app. The person can save a clear label photograph, model or part number, size, fitting, and any note that helps them buy the right thing again. Let them add a source link or the name of the shop.

Keep similar items distinguishable. Two rooms may use different bulbs, and two filters may look alike while having different sizes. Organize entries using names and locations the person recognizes.

Make photographs easy to enlarge so a label is readable in the shop. Search should work with the remembered room, object, part number, or note.

Compare while the decision is in front of them

Let the person open the relevant space and record or inspect a candidate item's dimensions beside it. Keep units clear and make any conversion visible. Where the app calculates a difference, show which dimensions and recorded clearances it compared.

Let them save candidate photographs and notes with the question they are trying to answer. They should be able to compare another option without overwriting the measurements taken at home.

Keep the saved information available without a connection. The app should reopen to useful records after an interruption and make it easy to find the entry again while someone in the shop is waiting.

Take it on a real shopping task

Handle the Android build and installation and explain the camera or other access the app uses. Give the person an export and recovery path under the shared launch's ownership guidance.

Record a space and a replacement part, then use the app away from home to inspect the details and compare a candidate. Judge whether the names, photographs, and measurements answer the questions the person actually asks in the aisle.

Explain why a number becomes much more useful when its unit, subject, and context stay with it. Later additions can follow recurring questions the person encounters, including sharing selected records with someone else or adding further capture assistance while preserving the original measurements.
